St. Regis Hotels Planned for Bangkok, Osaka, and Tianjin

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts is scheduled to open three new hotels in Asia between 2009 and 2011. The St. Regis Hotel & Residences in Bangkok, Thailand will open in early 2009, to be followed the next year by the St. Regis Hotel in Osaka, Japan. The St. Regis Hotel in Tianjin, China is planned for 2011. This expansion follows the two original St. Regis Asian properties in Beijing and Shanghai, as well as properties which will begin operations in the next two years in Singapore (2007), Bali (2008), and Macau (2010) .

The three new hotels luxury accommodations will feature the traditional St. Regis butler service. St. Regis butlers are trained to provide unobtrusive and discreet customized service in anticipation of guests needs. Butler service is a hallmark of the original and legendary St. Regis New York, founded in by John Jacob Astor.

The St. Regis Hotel & Residences in Bangkok will have 198 rooms, 22 serviced apartments, and 71 residential units. The hotel will be located near the most prestigious business and entertainment areas in this dynamic city.

Osaka’s 159-room St. Regis Hotel will be located on Midosuji Avenue, which runs through central Osaka and houses government and corporate offices. The area around the intersection with Honmachi Street, where the hotel will be situated, is developing into a luxury retail district. Hotel facilites will include a spa and three restaurants, and will provide over 4,500 square feet (418 square meters) of meeting space.

The Tianjin St. Regis facilities will feature six restaurants, a spa, and a pool. The hotel will have 284 rooms and 20,000 square feet (1858 square meters) of meeting space in a mixed-use development. Tianjin, the third largest city in China, is a cultural hub as well as a manufacturing, petrochemical and textile center. The site of China’s first university, it hosts opera companies and is a center for folk art. Tianjin is also one of the venues of the 2008 Olympic Games.
