Royal Caribbean Announces Cruise Line for French Market
A new cruise line for the French market, CDF Croisieres de France, will begin operations in May of next year. The re-christened Bleu de France will operate from Marseille on a Mediterranean route for the summer season. The cruise liner will then sail a Caribbean route based in La Romana, Dominican Republic, for the 2008-2009 winter season. [Read more…]
OnAir Adds Kingfisher and Shenzhen Airlines to In-Flight Communications Customers
India’s Kingfisher Airlines and China’s Shenzhen Airlines have both agreed to install OnAir’s in-flight communications systems for phone and data. Two other Asian carriers, AirAsia and AirAsia X, also plan to offer OnAir services, bringing the number of Asian customers to four.
Demonstration systems will be installed on three Shenzhen Airlines planes by August of next year, at the time of the Beijing Olympics. By the middle of 2009, the OnAir will be available on all the carrier‘s aircraft. The airline will be the first in China with facilities for passengers to use their own communication devices while in the air. [Read more…]
Cathay Pacific Chooses Amadeus’ Altea Customer Management System
Cathay Pacific Airways has chosen the Altéa Customer Management Solution (CMS) software from Amadeus as part of its commitment to new technology in support of the airline’s growth strategy. Cathay Pacific currently uses Amadeus’ internet booking package for its reservation systems. The Altéa suite has been chosen for management of the entire passenger service chain, including reservation, inventory, and departure control systems for Cathay Pacific and its subsidiary, Dragonair.
