Hyatt Centric Sapporo opened on October 3, 2026, bringing the Hyatt Centric brand to Hokkaido for the first time. The 216-room hotel occupies the top floors of a mixed-use tower in central Sapporo, beside the former Hokkaido Government Office Building and near Odori Park.
The former government office, known as Akarenga-chosha or the Red Brick Building, is one of central Sapporo’s historic landmarks. Odori Park hosts major city events, including the Sapporo Snow Festival each winter, the YOSAKOI Soran Festival, and Sapporo Autumn Fest.
Guests can reach Odori subway station in a few minutes through an underground walkway, according to Hyatt. JR Sapporo Station, the city’s main rail hub, is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel.
All 216 guest rooms and suites measure at least 36 square meters (388 square feet), with large windows facing the city. The design takes inspiration from Takeshiro Matsuura, the explorer and cartographer credited with naming Hokkaido, and includes a wooden check-in counter made by a local artisan, straw artworks, reclaimed wood, and a fireplace lounge.
Matsu Grill & Bar, on the 17th floor, serves Hokkaido seafood and produce cooked over a wood fire with Mediterranean influences, from a show kitchen with city views. On the ground floor, Mr. Fish by Hyatt Centric Sapporo is a casual café serving fish and chips made with seasonal white fish from Hokkaido waters, along with fish burgers, churros, and takeout.
Hotel staff known as Local Insiders provide seasonal recommendations, a seasonal map, and daily picks covering festivals, food, and outdoor activities around the city.
An opening offer applies to direct Hyatt bookings made by October 31, 2026, for stays from October 3 to December 31, 2026. It includes 15 percent off, or 17 percent for World of Hyatt members, daily breakfast, and a 3,000 yen credit per room per stay for the hotel’s dining outlets, in-room dining, or minibar.
