easyJet.com is the UK’s favourite travel website

March 28, 2007 by Travel News Editor

easyJet.com, Europe’s leading airline website, is the UK’s favourite travel website according to Hitwise, the leading online competitive intelligence service.

Hitwise today announced the most popular UK websites in their annual online performance awards, with easyJet winning the Number One award for Commercial Airlines and Travel – Transport. The awards, which recognise outstanding online business achievement and acknowledge the most successful websites in a variety of key industries, are defined by the number of user visits throughout 2006.

easyJet.com not only received more visits than any other travel website, but the airline is also the fifth most searched for brand online after ebay, Bebo, Argos and Amazon!

Andrew Berks, Brand Communications Manager for easyJet commented: “easyJet takes great pride in being one of Europe’s leading online innovators and is delighted to be recognised for this achievement. Over 30 million passengers booked via easyJet.com in 2006, more than 98% of total sales, it is clear our website is exactly what the consumer is looking for.

It’s not just about our great low fares, easyJet makes booking online so easy and convenient with clear and concise information, simple flexibility and intuitive functionality.

easyJet is committed to further developing its online product and will continue to offer the best website for both business and leisure travellers alike.”
