Cathay Pacific to Add Third Daily JFK-Hong Kong Flight

August 5, 2007 by Travel News Editor

Starting November 15th, Cathay Pacific will add a non-stop 9 a.m. departure to its daily service from New York’s JFK International Airport to Hong Kong. The airline’s passengers will have a choice between morning, afternoon, and evening flights from that date forward. The current flights include a daily non-stop and a daily connection through Vancouver.

At the same time, Cathay Pacific will begin New York service with their new Boeing 777-300 ER long-haul aircraft. The new long-haul product features changes to seating, cabin design, and in-flight entertainment in First, Business, and Economy classes.

In July, the airline added three morning flights from Vancouver to its existing schedule of fourteen flights per week. The carrier also announced a second daily non-stop from San Francisco starting October 18th. In addition to these cities, Cathay Pacific flies non-stop to Hong Kong from Los Angeles three times a day and once daily from San Francisco.

Cathay Pacific Senior Vice President Americas Alan Wong said, “Next year, we celebrate 25 years of servicing North America and we’re pleased to be able to continually add more flights to suit the travel needs of our passengers.” He added that the additional services are in response to increased demand for travel to Asia, especially to mainland China.
