Passengers flying Singapore Airlines’ new B777-300ER service from Los Angeles can now experience the airline’s $360 million investment in innovations – designed to provide passengers in all three classes with more space, comfort and control of their in-flight experience.
Highlights of the new First, Business and Economy Classes include:
New First Class
— Comfort — the largest seats in the sky at 35-inches wide
— Flexibility — seats convert to horizontal flat beds with ease
— Privacy — eight private suites
— Technology — 23-inch LCD monitors with USB ports, in-seat power and
noise reduction headsets
— Style — furnishings and amenities designed by Givenchy
— Cuisine — revamped menu designed by renowned chefs and wine experts,
with on-demand dining
New Business Class
— Room — world’s widest horizontal flat bed seat at 30-inches, almost
50 percent wider than other carriers
— Space — seats arranged in forward facing, 1-2-1 configuration offer
all passengers direct access to the aisle
— Productivity — new 15.4-inch LCD monitors with USB ports, in-seat
power and noise reduction headsets
New Economy Class
— Size — two inches wider than industry average at 19-inches
— Diversion — larger 10.6-inch entertainment monitor at each seat with
USB ports
— Functionality — features including handset on the seatback for
easier reach, a non-intrusive reading light underneath the seatback
screen, and in-seat power supply
KrisWorld In-flight Entertainment System
— Entertainment — more than 1,000 on-demand options including 100
movies, TV programs, interactive games, audio CDs and programming
— Education — learn 22 languages with Berlitz(R) World Traveller and
Culture Quest
— Connectivity — office tools include spreadsheet, presentation and
word processing on each personal system
The new B777-300ER service from Los Angeles will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday to Singapore, expanding to daily service in April. The service marks the introduction of the new product to Singapore Airlines’ second U.S. destination, following the launch in San Francisco in January.
The Airbus A380 aircraft, of which Singapore Airlines will be the first to fly in 2007, will also feature variations of some of these products when it enters service later this year.
