AirAsia Thailand (FD) is set to enhance travel convenience for passengers by expanding its domestic operations at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. Beginning 1 July 2025, the airline will launch three new direct routes from Suvarnabhumi (BKK) to Buriram, Surat Thani, and Narathiwat, further strengthening its domestic network.
AirAsia Thailand Expands Domestic Network
This expansion will bring AirAsia’s total number of routes from Suvarnabhumi to nine, reinforcing the airport’s role as a key domestic hub alongside the airline’s main base at Don Mueang Airport.
The newly announced routes include:
- Buriram – 3 flights weekly
- Surat Thani – Daily service
- Narathiwat – Daily service
To celebrate the launch, AirAsia is offering promotional fares starting at just 880 THB, available exclusively on AirAsia MOVE and airasia.com. The special fares are on sale until 24 April 2025 for travel between 1 July and 25 October 2025.
While Suvarnabhumi’s role in AirAsia’s network continues to grow, the majority of the airline’s operations remain based at Don Mueang Airport, which serves as its primary hub. From Don Mueang, AirAsia operates the most extensive network of domestic and international routes in the country, offering travelers a wide range of destinations and frequent departures.
With this latest update, AirAsia now operates the following routes from Suvarnabhumi:
- Chiang Mai – 8x daily
- Phuket – 6x daily
- Krabi – 3x daily
- Hat Yai
- Udon Thani
- Khon Kaen – 2x daily
- Surat Thani – daily (from July)
- Narathiwat – daily (from July)
- Buriram – 3x weekly (from July)
This network growth positions AirAsia as the leading domestic carrier in Thailand, with a presence in 37 domestic routes and a growing share of the domestic market — reaching 40% in 2024.
