Marriott Executive Apartments To Open In Kazakhstan

August 12, 2007 by Travel News Editor

Marriott Executive Apartments (MEA) will open a 160-unit facility in Atyrau, the capital of Kazakhstan’s oil industry, later in the year, becoming the first international brand of serviced apartments in the country. The one- and two-bedroom apartments will offer extended stay travelers both apartment-style living and deluxe hotel services.

Along with daily breakfast in the lobby resident’s lounge, the hotel provides housekeeping, a laundry/valet service, mini-bars in each apartment, and a fitness center. Guests have access to staff and room service 24 hours per day. Apartments contain specialized work and relaxation areas, and feature fully-equipped kitchens.

The 21-story building will be located on Satpaeva Street, approximately half a mile (800 meters) from another Marriott International managed property, the Renaissance Atyrau Hotel. The mixed-use development containing MEA as its anchor will have 2475 square feet (230 square meters) of office and 15,600 square feet (1,450 square meters) of retail space as part of its total 205,000 square feet (19,000 square meter).

Atyrau International Airport is served by several regional airlines and is only 15 minutes from the city center. The city lies on the north coast of the Caspian Sea, where the Ural River enters.

The Atyrau property is part of Marriott International’s expansion of its current fifteen Marriott Executive Apartments located around the world. Within the next 24 months, the company plans to open facilities in Gurgaon (India), Seoul, Cairo, Doha (Qatar) and Sharjah (United Arab Emirates).
