Sheraton Opens Shenzhen Futian Hotel

July 22, 2007 by Travel News Editor

The Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel has opened in the Futian central business district of Shenzhen, at the Great China International Exchange Square. The Exchange Square, a multi-purpose landmark building, is located between the Shenzhen Civic Center and the Shenzhen Convention Center and is within easy walking distance of the convention center.

Tomas Hansson, the hotel’s General Manager, cited “the rapid economic growth of Shenzhen city and development of Shenzhen’s central business district in Futian” in remarks about the new hotel.

The hotel’s two 28-story wings contain 418 rooms and suites, and provide a dramatic view of the city. Every guest room features a 32-inch plasma screen with satellite TV, wireless and broadband internet access, and a separate bath and shower. Suites have a living room with executive working area, a bedroom, and a large bathroom. The Sheraton Shenzhen Futian also offers indoor and outdoor pools, a well-equipped gymnasium, and a sauna and steam room.

A variety of food and beverage service is available at five restaurants and lounges. The Exchange provides all-day service of international, Asian, and Western dishes. Mezzo is an Italian restaurant, while the Celestial Court offers authentic Cantonese dining. The Afterwardz Lobby Lounge serves cocktails, coffee and tea, and light dishes throughout the day, and Havana has live entertainment, along with a selection of fine cigars, liquors and wine.

The Sheraton Shenzhen Futian contains more than 5,000 square meters (over 53,000 square feet) of function space that includes a state-of-the-art business center, a grand ballroom, 23 individual function rooms and four VIP rooms. The conference facilities provide a simultaneous translation system, state of the art audio/video equipment, high-speed broadband, wireless internet access, and computer rental.
