SeaWorld increases ticket prices

SeaWorld is increasing its ticket prices, following the lead of Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando.
Starting Monday, a single-day adult admission to SeaWorld will be $59.75, about 11 percent over the current price of $53.95.
Orlando's big theme parks usually raise their rates at about the same time. Both Disney and Universal announced increases in December to $59.75 for a single-day adult ticket.
Nick Gollattscheck, a SeaWorld spokesman, said the park is raising its ticket prices because of increased operating costs, strong consumer demand and to bring its rates in line with the competition.
"We run our own business plan, but part of that plan is to monitor what the pricing standards are for theme parks in Orlando," Gollattscheck said.
